At 16 years old, Janet knew she wanted to be a physical therapist. She earned her physical therapy degree in 1983 from Florida International University. Janet has been in private practice since 1993. She specializes in a whole-body, cause-oriented, hands-on (manual therapy) approach to chronic and acute pain. She combines osteopathic-based muscle and joint balancing techniques, visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy, lymph drainage techniques, Somatic Experiencing and Pilates. She is a Level II practitioner of Somatic Experiencing and a certified Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist (BCST).
Janet believes in the underlying and innate health of all people. One of her roles has been to bridge the science of medicine with her patient’s inner experience to create a unique path to healing. She holistically looks at the influence of causative factors for the origin of pain/ illness in each individual. In her practice, she offers techniques helping patients tap into the wisdom of the body and the truth within. She holds the contemporary view that inner awareness and experience is often times the primary voice and central point of investigation for greater healing.
Janet is known by her patients and colleagues for her compassionate dedication to the healing of others. She is committed to lifelong personal and professional growth and development with over 1,500 post-graduate hours of training. Janet was one of the first practitioners in the United States trained in visceral (organ) release techniques.
One of her goals has been to help other health care professionals increase their effectiveness in treating chronic pain. As a result she has taught extensively at state conferences and continuing education seminars. In addition, she has written several articles for professional publications.

Janet enjoys biking, hiking, nature, the outdoors and body-centered self-investigation. She is a lifetime learner and dedicated to her own overall growth.
